September 20, 2010 -- East St. Paul, MB – The municipality of East St. Paul (ESP) has recently expanded their ESRI-based software to include work order management and dynamic web-based queries/reports to several departments through GeoStack software ( http://www.geostack.com).

Serving a population under 10,000, ESP has been using ESRI Software as their GIS-based day to day operations. Until recently, ESP had used the software primarily to create and view information including infrastructure, zoning, and parcels in a GIS-based environment.

“GeoStack is the ideal solution for our municipalities' need to distribute
web based GIS to our workforce. ” said Justin Synchena, Information Technology & Communications Coordinator.

Map It Out Inc. recently developed GeoStack software to allow municipalities and counties to publish, query, and generate reports on their data, over the web – giving access to internal and external staff.

“It is easy to use, with a clean user interface that allows new and old GIS users alike to efficiently get the information they need. GeoStack puts all of our GIS data at the fingertips of every employee, inside, and outside the office.” commented Synchena.

An easy to use work order management system is a major part of the application. Users can add, edit, and retire work orders from the system. Each work order is associated with a user-drawn geometry (point, line, or polygon). Work orders will consist of a start and end date, title, assigned system user, department, description, notes, and a status. Comments and files such as photos and documents can be associated to each work order. A notification system has been implemented to inform users of changes to status events associated with work orders.

“We were particularly impressed with the work order tracking system, which allows GeoStack to actually surpass our desktop software in the amount of data presented to the user. This product is truly meeting and exceeding our business needs.” said Synchena.
