Rapid Prototyping Leader Quickparts Offers New Somos NeXt Material for Stereolithography

ATLANTA, GA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- Aug 04, 2010 -- Quickparts ( http://www.quickparts.com), one of North America's largest providers of custom designed parts, ranging from rapid prototyping to plastic injection molding, recently announced the availability of Somos NeXt, an extremely durable stereolithography material for rapid prototyping.

Somos NeXt is a next generation of Stereolithography (SLA) resin technology which produces very accurate parts with high feature detail. Based on the existing high-impact DMX-SL material, the NeXt resin facilitates the production of tough, complex parts with improved moisture resistance and greater thermal properties.

"It has been and continues to be our commitment to offer the product development community the latest materials, innovation, and technology available," said Patrick Hunter, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Quickparts. "The addition of the NeXt material to our already extensive line of materials allows us to continue our mission of making it easy for our customers to get custom designed parts that meet their needs."

Parts produced from the Somos NeXt material are much more resistant to breakage than parts made with standard stereolithography resins. It is ideal for use in functional testing applications as well as prototyping applications where toughness is required. Market segments include aerospace, automotive, consumer products, and electronics.
