Virtually T-Touch-able: Tissot Launches an Augmented Reality Application on Its Website and Brings 3D Augmented Reality Advertising to the Watch Market

WEEHAWKEN, N.J., June 21 — (PRNewswire) — Tissot is one of the first Swiss watch brands to launch the 3D augmented reality technology. Today it is the first Swiss watch brand to offer this application on its website. In some markets, the brand is also launching a unique augmented reality advertising campaign, featuring a watch as a tip-on. Consumers will be able to try on a 3D virtual watch and interact with the innovative features of the brand's pioneering Touch collection. Enhancing the importance of innovation for Tissot, this new technology perfectly matches the Touch collection spirit.

The application is available on the Tissot website www.tissot.ch/reality and allows users, when they hold their wrist in front of a webcam, to try on watches and change models, colours and styles on their computer.  At the same time, special advertising visuals have been developed featuring a watch as a tip-on allowing the readers to 'try on' the watches at home using their own webcam enabled computer. By logging onto Tissot website they can see themselves wearing the watches in realtime 3D.

With 28 different variations to choose from, consumers will be able to 'try on' a selection of styles and select the finish and colour of their wristband from the Touch collection, including the new Sailing-Touch, T-Touch Expert and Sea-Touch. As well as seeing how the watch would look on their wrist, consumers will be able to experiment with the touch screen features of the watches, including the diver functionality of the Sea Touch and the altimeter, meteo, compass and thermometer of the wider ranges.  Videos showcasing the unique features of each style will run alongside the visual of the watch on the wearer's wrist. All the watches will also tell the correct time in digital and analogue.

Francois Thiebaud, Tissot President, said; "As a brand that's renowned for its innovation, it is fitting that Tissot is the first Swiss watch brand to use an augmented reality application on its website. What makes it really special, is the synergy of the touch technology of our Touch collection with the augmented reality functionality. It's the perfect way to get thousands of consumers to experience the Tissot Touch collection and experiment with its features."
