®, a division of Celartem Inc. and a provider of software solutions for managing and distributing geospatial content, announced the integration of its GeoExpress Raster DSDK 7.0.0 for MG3/MG2, a toolkit for decoding and viewing MrSID® and JPEG 2000 images, into Applied Imagery’s Quick Terrain Modeler version 7.1.0.
Quick Terrain Modeler is a 3D point cloud and terrain visualization software package used to create and visualize large DEMs and point clouds from various data formats. The software is focused on both defense and civilian applications.
“Our user community has access to significant libraries of MrSID images. This new decode functionality will allow our users to quickly and easily locate, drape, and sample MrSID imagery onto point clouds and DEM’s.” said Chris Parker, Applied Imagery’s founder. “Integration of the GeoExpress Raster DSDK into Quick Terrain Modeler offers users the best of both worlds, high resolution imagery and high resolution LiDAR in the same interactive scene.”
“This integration is especially exciting for our Department of Defense and intelligence community users who currently work with MrSID imagery and use Applied Imagery’s Quick Terrain Modeler for LiDAR data-set management,” said Jon Skiffington, LizardTech’s director of marketing. “These users can now quickly drape MrSID imagery over their point clouds and DEMs for greater understanding and usability in the field.”
