Newforma to Discuss PIM Best Practices at AEC Technology Strategies 2010 Conference

MANCHESTER, NH -- (MARKET WIRE) -- May 11, 2010 -- Newforma®, a software company addressing the project information management ( PIM) needs of architecture, engineering and construction firms, announced today that the benefits of PIM will be highlighted in two different sessions at the AEC Technology Strategies 2010 Conference May 20-21 in Las Vegas.

First, at 1:15 p.m. PDT on Thursday, May 20th, during the session entitled, "One Source of Truth: Integrate Vision, Newforma, and OpenAsset to Tell Project Stories," Einhorn Yaffee Prescott Architecture & Engineering Principal and CIO Brad Horst, Newforma Vice President of Product Management and Industry Marketing Bob Batcheler and Knowledge Architecture Founder Christopher Parsons will co-present the benefits of creating a single source of truth for project information, including financials, images, contracts, email and history. Together, they will show how to leverage the integration available between Deltek® Vision®, Newforma® Project Center and Axomic OpenAsset to display a whole project story through enterprise portals like Microsoft® SharePoint® and reporting technologies such as Microsoft SQL Server® Reporting Services.

Then, during a solution provider session at 4:00 p.m. PDT on Thursday, May 20th, Newforma's Batcheler will show how the recently released Newforma Project Center Seventh Edition product integrates with any major email client, provides improved access to project information from remote offices and supports custom SQL reporting. Additionally, he will provide an update on how Seventh Edition takes full advantage of a 64-bit systems architecture and can be deployed on virtual servers.

Finally, at 11:45 a.m. on Friday, May 21st, attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions of Bob Batcheler during the "Open Mike" closing panel session.

"As many firms make the strategic move to adopt integrated project delivery, there are more people involved sooner and more decisions to be made earlier in the project delivery process," said Newforma Chief Executive Officer Ian Howell. "As a result, there are higher volumes of project information being shared and more frequent communications, which can quickly become overwhelming to manage. IPD success demands both the transparency of all project information that is being shared and accountability across every member of the project team. This in turn requires a well conceived PIM strategy by the IPD team and the implementation of a proven PIM solution for the project. These AEC Technology Strategies sessions will provide a timely opportunity to discuss the key role that PIM plays in enabling IPD projects for our customers."
