Industry Veteran to Lead SGI’s World-Wide Service Organization
FREMONT, Calif. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — May 3, 2010 — SGI (NASDAQ: SGI), a global leader in HPC and data center solutions, today announced the addition of Rick Rinehart as senior vice president of services. With a strong business background in key professional services management roles, Rinehart will be responsible for shaping and growing SGI’s worldwide services organization. He will report to CEO Mark Barrenechea and join the executive management team.

Rinehart comes to SGI from Sun Microsystems (now Oracle) where, as vice president of global customer services, he managed a 1,200-person service delivery team that supported over $1.4B in services revenue. Prior to Sun, Rinehart was at StorageTek (acquired by Sun Microsystems) where he led the federal government services sales and delivery functions with overall responsibility for support and professional services.

Rinehart has held additional sales and services leadership positions at NCR Government Systems and served in the U.S. Army for 10 years. Rinehart holds a B.S. in information systems from the University of Maryland and an M.S. in business administration from Central Michigan University.
