Qualcomm’s Gobi Platform Spurs New Generation of Software Solutions for Enterprise

Ecosystem of 100+ Independent Software Vendors Developing Applications for Asset Protection, Cost Control and More

SAN DIEGO — April 19, 2010 — Qualcomm Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM), a leading developer and innovator of wireless technologies, products and services, today announced that the ecosystem of independent software vendors (ISVs) around the Company’s Gobi™ 3G/4G connectivity platform is continuing to expand. More than 100 ISVs are now developing a wide variety of software for the enterprise, including applications that deliver enhanced data protection and security for Gobi-equipped notebooks, real-time cost control for employees’ data usage, location-based services and more. The software products allow companies to manage their mobility deployments proactively by gathering real-time data, location and analytics from their Gobi-enabled devices to better predict and control their telecom expenses.

At the Gartner Wireless, Networking & Communications Summit in San Diego, Qualcomm will host a session entitled “Expanding Connectivity: Gobi Anywhere” on Monday, April 19 from 3:00-4:00 p.m., where executives will discuss key business services and products being delivered through the Gobi software ecosystem. Qualcomm’s exhibit at the event will feature demonstrations of software running on commercially available notebooks.

“Qualcomm’s Gobi connectivity technology has broad reach across the laptop and mobile device spaces, presenting a unique opportunity for ISVs to bring compelling and valuable applications to market,” said Barry Matsumori, vice president of product management for Qualcomm CDMA Technologies. “We are very excited about the software products available now and coming soon.”

The Gobi platform features integrated connectivity and GPS capabilities, enabling ISVs to develop a wide range of software products that solve real-world enterprise problems. Companies such as Absolute Software, Airpatrol, Anomalous Networks, DeLorme Software, Fiberlink, iPass, Tangoe and Trellia are currently developing solutions for mobile device management, cost control, asset tracking, security and more.
