Lancaster, Pennsylvania (March 12, 2010) – LASA is a municipal authority providing sanitary sewer collection and treatment services for over 31,000 customers in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. LASA maintains a sewer collection system consisting of approximately 500 miles of sewer pipe and 11,350 manholes within a 123 square mile service area. As a long time user of GIS and GPS technology to map sewer infrastructure, LASA desired to extend the benefits of GIS so that individuals in engineering, maintenance, customer service, and administration can quickly look up facility and customer information with a simple web-GIS Intranet solution.
Through a competitive solicitation process, LASA selected geographIT’s mapJazz™ which works with ESRI’s ArcGIS Server, because mapJazz™ offers the desired level of GIS functionality and provides flexible configuration options so mapJazz™ can easily be configured to LASA’s environment. It is also reasonably priced.
In addition to the software license purchase, LASA also contracted geographIT to:
- Conduct an initial on-site assessment and summarize the required or optional server configuration upgrades to prepare for mapJazz™ installation.
- Provide one day of on-site technical support, including installing or configuring web server software, ArcGIS Server 9.3.1, and mapJazz™ on a production server.
- Provide one day of mapJazz™ System Administration training.
