Program Designed to Create Public Awareness of Geospatial Technology's Benefits and Risks
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa., March 4 — (PRNewswire) — Harris Corporation (NYSE: HRS) is a major sponsor of an integrated media and outreach program developed by Penn State Public Broadcasting (PSPB) to help educate the public about the world of digital mapping and how it is changing the way we think, behave and interact.The PSPB's Geospatial Revolution Project consists of a series of web-based videos, each of which tells an intriguing geospatial story. Viewers will virtually meet inventive people who are using satellite-, surveillance- and location-based technologies to address some of the world's most difficult problems. The series will discuss the benefits of this proliferating technology, as well as concerns related to security and privacy.
