Adapx Announces Support for ESRI MapIt and the Inclusion of Capturx in the US Army ENFIRE Toolkit at 2010 ESRI Federal User Conference

WASHINGTON, DC -- (MARKET WIRE) -- Feb 16, 2010 -- Adapx ( www.adapx.com), today announced Capturx for SharePoint support for ESRI MapIt, enabling teams to instantly send field data collected on paper forms to SharePoint where it can be overlaid on top of ArcGIS or Bing maps for easy data visualization and analysis. The company also announced that the US Army Corps of Engineers' Combat Terrain Information Systems (CTIS) and Maneuver Support Center (MANSCEN) has selected Capturx for ArcGIS to be part of the Engineering Field Planning, Reconnaissance, Surveying, and Sketching Set (ENFIRE). Live product demonstrations of Capturx for ArcGIS as well as Capturx support for ESRI MapIt will be available in the Adapx booth #306 at the 2010 ESRI Federal User Conference from February 17-19, 2010 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington DC.

EPA Proof of Concept for Inspection Forms with Capturx for SharePoint and ESRI MapIt
Capturx for SharePoint helps enterprises and agencies automate paper-based data collection by digitizing data as it's written and automatically integrating the information into Microsoft SharePoint Server. Adapx will demonstrate an EPA prototype to automate Superfund-related inspection forms with Capturx for SharePoint. Teams in the field conduct and document Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) Inspections using paper forms and digital pens. Data can be instantly sent to SharePoint from the field using BlackBerry and Bluetooth connections with the digital pens. When the data is sent, Capturx adds GPS data from the device to track the transmission location.

When the data is instantly integrated into SharePoint, teams have instant access to the original handwriting, converted data and structured data tables including the X and Y coordinates. When the MapIt link is clicked, the data is automatically overlaid on ArcGIS Online maps using the coordinates or can be geocoded from any address field on the form. Each form is displayed on the map as an icon, which can be defined based on data attributes for any form. For example, EPA forms that reflect a need for immediate attention can be displayed on maps as red alerts. The clickable icons lead directly to the actual forms.

"Our latest offering is ideal for agencies that collect a lot of data on paper forms about field conditions," said Ken Schneider, CEO at Adapx. "Capturx for SharePoint offers powerful ways to analyze and work with the structured data. With MapIt support, agencies can now also analyze map views to data without deploying complex GIS software or training."

ENFIRE Now Includes Capturx for ArcGIS
Designed to modernize and expedite the collection and dissemination of reconnaissance, construction, facilities and related information, ENFIRE provides engineer soldiers with the capability to conduct tactical data collection at offset locations using a standardized format.

By using Capturx for ArcGIS, engineers can rapidly perform reconnaissance, surveying, obstacle reporting, construction site planning, engineering project management, and inventory management. They can also use Capturx to record locations, conditions of roads and bridges, types of repairs, hazards, obstacles, and other important data discovered during the reconnaissance mission. Data easily and reliably collected in the field can be automatically integrated into ArcGIS for immediate command visibility and better decision making.

Natural Resources Conservation Service Showcases Capturx for ArcGIS
In addition to the live demos in the Adapx booth, Alan B. Price from The Natural Resources Conservation Service (NCRS) and agency of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) will present their pilot test results of Capturx for ArcGIS. Capturx was used to assist in the completion of a soil survey of the United States as well as the updates and maintenance of the spatial and attribute data for completed soil surveys. Interested conference attendees can attend the presentations on Thursday, February 18 from 4:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. in Room 143B or on Friday, February 19 from 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. in Room 142.
