ARCHIBUS Bundles ESRI ArcGIS Map Services in Web Central

Web Services Provide Instant Geo-Intelligence within ARCHIBUS Web Products

BOSTON — (BUSINESS WIRE) — February 16, 2010 — ARCHIBUS Inc. (archibus.com), the #1 developer worldwide of real estate, infrastructure, and facilities management software, announces the integration of a select set of ESRI ArcGIS map services with ARCHIBUS Web Central V.18.2., the world’s most powerful, and widely used, intuitive business transformation platform. Over 4 million ARCHIBUS users employ this self-service Web platform to speed work processes and access intelligence about their organizations’ assets.

Organizations that own or purchase ARCHIBUS Web Central can use these new mapping services at no extra charge. Once enabled, the services can, for example, illuminate a site’s property and lease management dashboards with geographic context and demographics. This immediate and effortless access of high-end geo-intelligence is the result of a close collaboration between ARCHIBUS, Inc. and ESRI, the global leader in Geographic Information Systems (GIS).

“This latest GIS feature equips ARCHIBUS users with the leading-edge technologies they need for advanced management insights that enable continuous business process improvement,” said ARCHIBUS President and founder Bruce K. Forbes. “The unified map and data views allow our users to visualize and analyze their operations from the increasingly important geospatial perspective. Organizations can also use the ARCHIBUS Extensions for ESRI GIS to integrate CAD and BIM data within GIS to get a common, operating picture of all spatial data at their sites, whether that data is inside or outside their buildings.”

Instant Mapping

The new out-of-the-box map services provide geospatial views of an organization’s facilities overlaid on the aerial, topographic, demographic, street/address and other location-based intelligence needed to visualize their business in relation to suppliers, sales channels, and customers.

Besides providing geographic context, a fast mouse-over gives access to related ARCHIBUS operational data. By unifying maps with analyses of business process information, ARCHIBUS provides the 360-degree view needed for improved insight and decision support. By delving into detailed property, facilities usage, and financial information, managers can quickly spot anomalies and realign expensive operational resources to better achieve the organization’s primary mission.

This offering includes a range of ESRI-hosted ArcGIS pre-configured map services. Imagery, topographic, and shaded relief maps show the physical context and “flyover” view of one’s organization. Demographic data ─ on population change, diversity index, and household income ─ are powerful resources for site selection of offices, production facilities, retail outlets, and more. Political maps show the regulatory boundaries within which divisions operate, and assist in risk mitigation.

ARCHIBUS can use the mapping service to automatically geo-locate facilities inside the United States, Canada, and Europe based on data already in ARCHIBUS.

Additional Fee-based Geo-Analysis Services Available

ESRI’s ArcGIS Online Services integrate smoothly with more advanced geospatial options, if needed. Organizations can integrate ESRI Business Analyst Online data if they are interested in employee and customer drive-time analyses or information on a market area’s population, lifestyle, buying behavior, or local business demographics. Users who require mapping services beyond those bundled with ARCHIBUS Web Central V. 18.2 have the option of accessing premium geospatial services from ESRI.
