(Feb. 2, 2010/Harrisburg, Pa.) GeoDecisions, an information technology company specializing in geospatial solutions, has been awarded multiple contracts to provide and enhance its patented IRRIS technology.
The U.S. Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) awarded GeoDecisions option year one of its five-year, $20 million contract for extending IRRIS capabilities to the U.S. Military Surface Deployment Distribution Command (SDDC), the Defense Transportation Tracking System (DTTS), and the USTRANSCOM Defense Courier Directorate (DCD). This contract option year will focus on the development of the next generation of IRRIS technology, geospatial data sharing capability across the Department of Defense (DoD) enterprise, and continued acquisition and integration of geospatial datasets.
The U.S. Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI) awarded GeoDecisions option year three of its contract to support its internal law enforcement and policing activities. As part of the new contract period, GeoDecisions will continue to integrate a new version of IRRIS for AFOSI, known as OSIRRIS, into its Area of Responsibility management workflows. In addition, GeoDecisions will develop additional geospatial capabilities to support case investigations by AFOSI special agents throughout the world.
IRRIS was originally developed for the SDDC, a component command of USTRANSCOM, to track, manage, and document the movement of surface cargo transported throughout the world. Today, the portal serves a number of federal and state agencies. For more information, visit
