January 05, 2010 -- Huntsville, AL - Institut Cartogràfic de Catalunya (ICC) selects GeoCue as its core production integration framework. The ICC, the mapping agency of the Autonomous Community of Catalunya of the Kingdom of Spain, has selected the GeoCue geospatial integration framework as the base software on which some critical geospatial production workflows will be based. The ICC’s selection of GeoCue follows a detailed analysis of the Return on Investment of internally developed foundation software versus the off-the-shelf GeoCue framework.
The ICC’s new approach to production management software deployment will be to build vertical applications on the GeoCue foundation. This approach will allow the ICC to concentrate its considerable internal development talent on applications that are unique to the ICC mission as opposed to expending that effort on common foundation technology.
The ICC will deploy GeoCue technology in four phases. The first phase will focus on implementing the GeoCue Command Dispatch System for providing core distributed computed services to the organization. Later phases will include integration of LIDAR processing, digital camera post-processing, and orthophoto production.
