Nov 19, 2009 -- SINGAPORE--Google and Singapore's Land Transport Authority (LTA) have entered into a partnership that aims to help commuters in Singapore get to their destinations faster.
Speaking at a press event held at the Dhoby Ghaut MRT station this morning, LTA chief executive Yam Ah Mee said the transport authority collaborates with "as many partners as possible with the sole aim of making sure that the commuters benefit the most". He also said the statutory board is working toward a "people-centered transport system".
For this interactive service, LTA will provide key transit and traffic information as well as public bus/MRT routes and schedules to Google. Local company Quantum Inventions will then integrate the traffic data with Google Maps.
