EUROMOLD 2009: EOS Presents End-To-End Process Chain, New Systems and Materials

Visit EOS at their booth in the new hall 11

Krailling near Munich, November 5, 2009 – New quality process enhancements plus the latest laser-sintering systems and materials will be introduced by world-leading manufacturer of laser-sintering systems, EOS, at EuroMold 2009, December 2-5 in Frankfurt am Main. The company will exhibit the developments at booth CO8 in the new hall 11.

“At this year’s EuroMold, the customer’s end product quite clearly has taken center stage for us,” says Dr. Hans Langer, founder and CEO of EOS. “Our new advancements help designers select the right laser-sintering processes and materials based on reliable part properties, even in the earliest stages of product development.”

End-to-End: A new approach to product development

EOS is introducing an End-to-End solution that ensures a continuous process from design through to functional parts and promotes customer priorities such as cost-effectiveness and part quality. These new capabilities are based on a general integration and communication concept for designers, manufactures and users of laser-sintered components. End-to-End assures that all current material information and parameter sets relevant for applications are available for everyone, any time and everywhere.

Improved process visibility is further supported by EOS’ Integrated Quality Management System (IQMS), which now offers extended monitoring possibilities across the entire process and extensive quality records. In addition, the Integrated Process Chain Management (IPCM) system for Direct Metal Laser-Sintering (DMLS) offers increased efficiency and quality as well as improved usability.

Systems and materials advances

EOS will also announce at EuroMold two new versions of their P3 and P7 series, offering greater efficiency and quality, and lower costs per part, with plastics laser-sintering. The new systems are the result of an extensive influence analysis of all relevant parameters of the e-Manufacturing process chain. The analysis guided EOS in the creation of a synchronized portfolio of new systems, materials, software, and peripheral products.

In addition, EOS will be unveiling new materials that enlarge the application range of laser-sintering. Among them are a nickel-based super alloy, EOS Nickel Alloy IN718, which is appropriate for many high temperature applications such as for the manufacturing of turbines; and an aluminum alloy, EOS Aluminum AlSi10Mg, which is very attractive for light construction appliances.

About EOS

EOS was founded in 1989 and is today the world-leading manufacturer of laser-sintering systems. Laser-sintering is the key technology for e-Manufacturing—the fast, flexible and cost-effective production of patterns and tools, as well as end products. Laser-sintering accelerates product development and optimizes manufacturing processes. It creates parts directly from electronic data for every phase of the product lifecycle, from prototypes to manufacturing to production parts.

EOS completed its business year 2008/2009 with revenues of approximately 60 million Euros. The company employs 300 people worldwide, 250 of them in Krailling near Munich, Germany. For more information visit www.eos.info.
