Addition of PlantWAVE Software to Portfolio Provides Ability to Automatically Generate 2D Orthographic GA Drawings From 3D Plant Design Systems Including AutoPLANT, PlantSpace, PDS, and PDMS
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Be Inspired: Infrastructure Best Practices Symposium and Awards – Oct. 14, 2009 – Bentley Systems, Incorporated, the leading company dedicated to providing comprehensive software solutions for the infrastructure that sustains our world, today announced at this invitation-only gathering of top Bentley users that it has acquired 9SQ Corporation, a leading provider of integration services and plant design software based in South Korea. Through this acquisition Bentley extends its ability to fully support users of plant design software in Korea and the surrounding region and adds PlantWAVE software to its portfolio. With PlantWAVE, users can streamline the production and delivery of 2D orthographic general arrangement (GA) drawings for process, power, offshore, and marine industry applications from 3D design models created using AutoPLANT, PlantSpace, PDS, and PDMS. Among the many engineering/procurement/construction contractors and owner-operators in Korea and North America that 9SQ serves are Daelim Industrial, Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering, GS E&C, Hyundai Engineering, Hyundai Heavy Industries, Samsung Engineering Co., LTD., Toyo Engineering Korea, and WorleyParsons.
“On behalf of Bentley, I welcome all PlantWAVE users to the Bentley user community,” said Dr. Jean-Baptiste Monnier, senior vice president, Bentley Asia-Pacific. “They include a number of PDS and PDMS users who are delivering higher quality projects and running more efficient and profitable organizations by taking advantage of PlantWAVE’s ability to save time and increase productivity.”
He continued, “I also welcome our new 9SQ colleagues to the Bentley team. They bring with them invaluable plant design expertise and experience employing knowledge-based engineering methodologies that enable them to consistently exceed user expectations. In addition, the PlantWAVE product line they have developed further extends Bentley’s wide range of plant design offerings.”
Chang Hoon Lee, former president of 9SQ who was just named Bentley technical director in Korea, said, “We are pleased to be a part of Bentley’s global organization. The breadth and depth of its portfolio will enable us to better serve the needs of our clients and further enhance the efficiency of their workflows.” In his new position at Bentley, Mr. Lee is responsible for the continued development of PlantWAVE.
About PlantWAVE
PlantWAVE enables users to automatically generate orthographic GA drawings for process, power, offshore, and marine industry applications from 3D design models created using AutoPLANT, PlantSpace, PDS, and PDMS. By reducing the time required to generate 2D piping GA drawings, PlantWAVE reduces production costs, improves the consistency of drawing quality, and enables engineering teams to spend more time on their design work.
