MxGPS 2009 Beta Available

October 13, 2009 -- MxGPS is an ArcMap extension that allows users to communicate with Garmin™ handheld GPS units. MxGPS was developed to allow users to rapidly transfer data directly between ArcGIS® Desktop software and a GPS unit.

GPS data such as waypoints and track logs can be downloaded directly into ArcMap and stored in shapefile or geodatabase format. Spatial data inside ArcMap can also be converted and sent to the GPS as waypoints and tracks

The new version of MxGPS provides a number of key improvements including:

  • Support for Windows Vista
  • Support for newer Garmin GPS units that store data in GPX format
  • GPX file import and export capabilities
  • Waypoint and Track symbology improvements

The Beta is available until the end of November and can be downloaded from: http://www.mxgeo.com/download.htm
