TMW Systems and NAVTEQ Sign Map Data and Content Licensing Agreement

Mobile Asset and Transportation Management Systems from TMW to Gain New Capabilities

CLEVELAND — (BUSINESS WIRE) — October 5, 2009 — TMW Systems, the largest provider of enterprise software for the transportation services industry, today announced the completion of a multi-year agreement to license NAVTEQ® map data for a development program that will bring new geographic visualization and routing tools to customers of TMW’s extended software product portfolio. NAVTEQ is the leading global provider of digital map, traffic and location data for in-vehicle, portable, wireless and enterprise solutions.

“We are excited to bring the benefits of this new relationship with NAVTEQ to TMW customers of our transportation management systems and our mobile communications applications,” said David Wangler, president and CEO of TMW Systems. “With access to world-class mapping capabilities and widely-accepted, truck-specific routing data, TMW now has a digital platform on which to build a new class of software tools. These geographically-aware applications can energize personnel and fleet productivity with new business insight.”

NAVTEQ map data is now onboard most in-vehicle navigation systems sold in North America and is an increasing component of location-based-services offered via the Internet. Wangler added that plans for integrating navigation with TMW’s popular D2Link hand-held mobile device application are also being considered.

Initial development plans call for the integration of NAVTEQ map data into TMW applications already enabled to work with mileage and routing data commonly used in the heavy-duty trucking industry. Customers of TMW operations software will continue to be able to operate with multiple legacy mileage data sources to satisfy existing contractual obligations regarding such items as driver pay or customer billing calculations. They will soon be able to add the benefit of NAVTEQ map data and content for efficient daily routing, OOR alerts, business analysis and fleet status displays.

“NAVTEQ is pleased to work with TMW Systems as they execute on their vision of improved productivity for the North American freight transportation industry,” said Roy Kolstad, vice president and general manager, Enterprise Americas, NAVTEQ. “This agreement brings another notable technology firm to the list of companies that we work with in fields such as Emergency Response, Government, Retail, Transportation and Utilities.”

NAVTEQ recently participated in TMW’s annual user conference and exhibition, TransForum 2009, where over 1,000 attendees had the opportunity to learn more about the breadth of NAVTEQ data coverage and detailed content including NAVTEQ Transport, which includes detailed road attributes including physical restrictions, legal restrictions and HAZMAT warnings.

The first prototype integrations from TMW to include NAVTEQ map data will be on display at the TMW Systems booth during the ATA Management Conference & Exhibition during the week of October 4 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
