Ghent, Belgium – September 30, 2009 – The team of expert GIS developers from Belgium that have developed the Open Source, web-based editable GIS software framework Geomajas have now released the new and improved stable version 1.4.1. ( www.geomajas.org).
This new version further completes the work started in the previous Geomajas versions fixing a few bugs, adding support for no less than 5 languages (English, Dutch, Spanish, Portuguese and French) but foremost breaking with the long-standing tradition of poor web-based printing by adding a new functionality: the Advanced Template-Based Printing.
The Advanced Template-Based Printing functionality offers among many others:
- Browser-based extensible component model
- Set of standard components: map, title, legend, north arrow, scalebar
- Advanced viewport component
- In-browser editing of components (drag, resize)
- 2 panning modes: fixed map, fixed print
- XML-based print templates for configuring components and layout
- Persistence and reuse of templates and prints
Geomajas 1.4.1 can be downloaded for free via www.geomajas.org.
Developers of Geomajas will present at FOSS4G, the conference for Free and Open Source Software for Geospatial (October 20 – 23, Sydney, Australia – Booth 19). Each year the conference brings together the best minds from the Open Source geospatial software world to discuss their work.
