PacifiCAD Hosts Autodesk “BIM for Construction” Seminars

Washington, Spokane – September 18, 2009– PacifiCAD Inc, the technology experts for sustainable design and engineering, announced today their free “ BIM for Construction” Seminars for Building Owners, Contractors, and Project Managers.

The AEC industry is undergoing a major transition from paper-based linear processes to a collaborative digital approach with Building Information Modeling ( BIM). PacifiCAD invites you to join us for an introduction to BIM presented by Ken Stowe, renowned construction technology expert from Autodesk.

BIM is not just a tool but a process that supports Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) methodologies, pulling all stakeholders together throughout the entire design and construction process and beyond to the operations and maintenance of the building. Progressive architectural and engineering design firms are utilizing BIM to improve their building designs; this seminar will show how this exciting technology is being expanded to include building owners, contractors, and project managers.

This intensive 3-hour seminar will show you the fundamentals needed to create virtual 3D models utilizing Revit Architecture, Structure, and MEP, and how to leverage the intelligent building components throughout the entire life cycle of the building including design and construction coordination.

You will learn how to use the model to create coordinated documents, export quantities for estimating, create 4D construction logistics and visualization, import site topography, as-planned versus as-built images, interference detection, energy analysis, value-engineering, constructability, and more.

3D visualization plays a major role in clearly understanding design intent and construction phasing. Unlike paper-based documents a 3D model allows you to create storyboards, animated walkthroughs, and any number of camera views that can be shared with your entire project team utilizing free viewers.

You will be challenged at this event – to learn about a powerful technology and how to leverage it in your organization as a competitive advantage, to become more efficient, and win more business. This seminar will expose you to the power of BIM utilizing Autodesk’s industry-specific software applications.

This event is free, reserve your spot today!
