On the first day of the conference, September 13, from 1 - 5 p.m., Rauenzahn will be joined by representatives from Intergraph and ESRI to discuss "Emerging Technologies: Connecting Operators and Solutions."
Cutting-edge spatial solutions can be used to decrease costs, automate activities and generate new efficiencies, but it can be difficult for companies to identify good solutions and get detailed information. This emerging technology seminar will cover a broad range of topics including the integration of SCADA systems with global information systems (GIS), how two industry-leading GIS vendors are advancing their solutions to include new protocols and technologies such as Google Earth and Microsoft Maps Live, and how Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) can be used in pipeline monitoring activities. Targeted at all attendees but especially at operators looking to use new technologies to improve their business processes, the seminar will feature an interactive, Q&A panel format.
For the panel, Rauenzahn will discuss the design criteria -- influenced by CygNet's Board of Customer Advisors and the issues driving their operations -- utilized in the creation of CygNet's product offering that combines SCADA and GIS systems.
Rauenzahn is responsible for CygNet's product strategy execution and portfolio management. Prior to his current role, he led CygNet's driver development team, implementing numerous development process improvement initiatives. Before joining CygNet, Rauenzahn was a software engineering lead at Hewlett-Packard Company working on the HPUX operating system and enterprise backup software and solutions.
