GISi Clients to Present Successful Solutions at ESRI’s International User Conference

BIRMINGHAM, AL – July 7, 2009 – Geographic Information Services, Inc. (GISi) will be exhibiting-- Booth 1824-- at ESRI’s International User Conference (UC), starting on July 12. Several of GISi’s clients will also be in attendance, presenting successful solutions that GISi helped them to deploy. In addition to the clients mentioned below, Coastal Georgia Regional Development Center, US Army Installation Management Agency, US Army Corps of Engineers, and US Bureau of Reclamation are other GISi clients that will be presenting projects at the UC.

Opelika Utilities is one of GISi’s clients that will be presenting at the conference. GISi started working with Opelika Utilities in early 2008. These early projects focused on geodatabase modeling, implementation and field GPS data translation. Most recently, GISi assisted Opelika in implementing a mobile GIS fire hydrant flow logger solution that allows the City’s Fire Department to record flow data real-time, from the field or via the Internet. For more information on this solution, attend Opelika’s presentation at the UC on Thursday, July 16 at 11:00 a.m. in Room 25.

Louisiana National Guard (LANG) worked with GISi to upgrade from ArcIMS 9.1 to ArcGIS Server 9.3. GISi created a customized ArcGIS Web Viewer based on the 9.3 Web ADF with such features as standard map navigation control, the ability to pan to XY coordinates, coordinates displayed in multiple formats including MGRS, simple mark-up tools, and print map capabilities. GISi also helped LANG deploy ArcGIS Image Server 9.3, which dramatically reduced the amount of effort required to incorporate new imagery data into the web application interface. To learn more about this application, attend HIT’s presentation on Wednesday, July 15 at 3:15 in Room 24.

Along with helping its clients showcase their projects, GISi will also be highlighting its ArcGIS Server 9.3 Flex products: Data Viewer and Data Download. Data Viewer is an application with tabbed views that are defined by individual departments or business requirements, with the ability to add stored queries to each tab. Data Download streamlines the entire data request workflow by empowering users to download data based on layer, viewable extent, or selection, as well as allowing the user to download data in the format of their choosing. For more information on these products, please visit GISi’s booth: 1824.
