Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department Inducted into 2009 Meridian Systems Hall of Fame

Customer recognition awards recognize best-in-class organizations from the capital building and construction industry

FOLSOM, Calif. (June 29, 2009) - Meridian Systems, the Plan-Build-Operate (PBO) technology solutions leader for project-based organizations, has honored the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD) with an induction into the 2009 Meridian Systems Hall of Fame.

"The Hall of Fame program recognizes project-based organizations who are Best in Class when it comes to managing infrastructure-intensive capital building programs and construction projects," said John Bodrozic, president at Meridian Systems. "We honor these outstanding customers who have adopted project management technology to better serve their customers, increase productivity of their workforce and improve business operations. They serve as models of what can be achieved in the capital building and construction industry."

The Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD) is one of the largest public utilities in the United States. In November 2007, WASD received a historic 20-year Water-Use Permit from the South Florida Water Management District. Plans associated with the permit include major capital improvements in areas such as wastewater treatment, reclamation and reuse, leading WASD to seek out a standardized project control tracking system (PCTS).

WASD selected Proliance software from Meridian Systems to serve as the foundation of their PCTS. As an Infrastructure Lifecycle Management (ILM) solution that allows organizations to optimize the Plan-Build-Operate project lifecycle, Proliance had the capabilities to unify all capital projects within WASD.

"Our goal with Proliance was to achieve the ability to move a project to completion in a more efficient way. The consolidation and standardization of processes onto a singular system supports this effort. Our people now have a database-driven system that allows them to manage their resources and plan ahead for things like funding and equipment purchases. I see this as the greatest benefit of our Proliance solution," said John Chorlog, associate director of the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department. "We are proud that our innovative use of technology and the success we have achieved was recognized. It is an honor."

Proliance is a complete infrastructure lifecycle management (ILM) solution that manages the three phases of physical infrastructure assets: plan, build and operate. Proliance optimizes project lifecycles and automates business processes for real estate, construction, and other physical infrastructure initiatives.
