Showcase Your Talents: Submit a Poster for the GeoTec Event Map Gallery

May 05, 2009 —The GeoTec Event invites you to submit your map to our Map Gallery competition. Maps are displayed throughout the conference and then judged by a panel. A winner and runner ups will be announced on the last day of the event, and selected maps also will be featured on GeoPlace.com and in GeoWorld magazine.

Submission Rules

Submission of a map indicates your agreement with the terms stated below on this page.

Rules

  • Each entry must include a 150- to 200-word description of what the poster/map is trying to relate to the viewer.
  • The poster/map should also contain a description of the source data.
  • A completed submission form must accompany each entry.
  • All posters/maps will be judged by a panel of judges.
  • All posters/maps must be of interest to the GeoTec Event. Attendees and must not present information that would be considered private or sensitive or that would detract from the conference or any other map in any way. The GeoTec Event, at its sole discretion, reserves the right to refuse any poster/map at any time.

Getting Your Map to Us

After you have registered your map using the submission form, maps may be delivered in person to the GeoTec Event registration desk at the Vancouver Convention Centre between 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. on Monday, June 1, 2009, or between 7:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 2, 2009.

Collecting Your Map After the Show

Map exhibitors may collect their maps between 2 and 5 p.m. on Thursday, June 4. Maps not collected will become the property of GeoTec Event.
