Meridian Systems Delivers Project Oversight and Transparency Packs Targeting Stimulus-funded Shovel-ready Projects

Plan-Build-Operate software solutions help public agencies deliver on the accountability and reporting requirements for the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009

FOLSOM, Calif. (April 15, 2009) - Meridian Systems, the Plan-Build-Operate (PBO) technology solutions leader for project-based organizations, announced today new capital project oversight packs targeting public agencies and their construction business partners. These packs combine GSA schedule pricing with several value-added components to give government organizations a "jumpstart" on providing transparency on stimulus-funded projects.

"Public agencies have been using Meridian solutions to avoid unnecessary project delays and cost overruns for the last 15 years," said John Bodrozic, president of Meridian Systems. "Our new project oversight packs can get government agencies up-to-speed quickly on meeting the unprecedented levels of project transparency the Recovery Act is demanding."

According to the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (the Recovery Act) of 2009, shovel-ready infrastructure projects and programs built using taxpayer dollars must be executed with full transparency and accountability. Meridian has a proven track record on publicly-funded infrastructure projects with more than 150 public agencies using its construction project management and infrastructure lifecycle management solutions.

"Meridian's PBO solutions are well positioned to address the accountability and reporting requirements for stimulus-funded construction projects," said Brian Sommer, a technology analyst for the project-based enterprise software industry and president of TechVentive, Inc., "PBO technology may be a real boon to governmental bodies and to the firms that manage governmental assets. Meridian's PBO solutions have been of great market interest over the last couple of years."

Meridian has leveraged its public sector expertise to create pre-packaged offerings designed for federal agencies, state and local governments, departments of transportation and educational facilities that must act swiftly to commit stimulus funds to actionable projects. As a GSA Federal Supply Schedule Contract holder, Meridian has combined its best available GSA pricing on Prolog® and Proliance® software along with additional, no cost, pre-configured tools to create two government oversight packs:

Prolog Oversight Pack
The Prolog Oversight Pack combines pre-configured project oversight reports based on the requirements of the Recovery Act and guidance from the Office of Management and Budget. These oversight reports are combined with collaboration tools to help agencies deliver status updates on projects and programs on several levels. For example, users can report on project and program status, program funding and obligations, track project location and status information for public transparency, and use collaboration tools to easily track change orders and integrate vendor data.

Proliance Government Starter Pack
The Proliance Government Starter Pack is a prepackaged software configuration and collection of solution accelerators designed in conformance with the GSA's Project Management Guide. With key components including Proliance collaboration tools and preconfigured dashboards, metrics, alerts and best practices, the package is specifically designed with the levels of transparency and accountability required by the Recovery Act.
