OKLAHOMA CITY, April 6 /PRNewswire/ -- NAVTEQ, a leading global provider of digital map data for vehicle navigation and location-based solutions, today announced from the Geographic Information Systems for Transportation conference that it has been awarded a contract by the New York State Office of Cyber Security and Critical Infrastructure Coordination (CSCIC). The contract calls for NAVTEQ to provide ongoing maintenance of CSCIC's geographic information system (GIS) spatial street address databases while giving CSCIC and all other New York State agencies access to the NAVTEQ(R) map database and comprehensive Point Address data.
CSCIC will utilize the NAVTEQ map database to assist in identifying interdependencies and potential impacts between cyber and physical events. Under the terms of the agreement with NAVTEQ, CSCIC will also be providing the data to all New York State local governments and other members of the New York State GIS Data Sharing Cooperative. NAVTEQ is working closely with GIS Solutions and Applied Geographics to meet the terms of the contract.
