PRESS RELEASE
Stamford, CT, For Immediate Release – The report “Transforming Mechatronics – A Scorecard for Driving Collaborative Efforts across Mechanical, Electrical, and Software Development Teams” was recently released by Collaborative Product Development Associates (CPDA), a provider of critical analyses for PLM decisions.
This report on mechatronics practices reviews the current levels of maturity observed among twelve leading manufacturers. Findings are presented in the form of a scorecard listing the assessed maturity across ten key process categories. These capabilities represent key requirements that PLM solution architects must address in order to support the mechatronics development process.
Mechatronics defines the future of engineered consumer and industrial products. Any solution to managing the mechatronics development process must solve the problems of multiple product representations, the coordination of design dependencies, and configuration and change management. Different approaches are observed in practice, all targeting the same ultimate goal – to increase the speed of development while boosting the quality and the innovation of the systems delivered.
