ANAHEIM, CA – Verisurf Software today announced introduction of AutoSurface for its reverse engineering software. The new feature enables automatic creation of complex shaped surfaces from pointclouds in a single mouse-click, and then output a solid or surface model compatible with any CAD system.
“We are very excited about the new AutoSurface capability,” explained Verisurf President Ernie Husted, “because no other solution makes surfacing of complex geometries so simple or fast.”
Verisurf users have come to rely on the company’s reverse engineering solutions for high-volume pointcloud acquisition and management. Using Reverse, they can convert to a mesh, surface or solid model that can be directly used for manufacturing or inspection purposes. AutoSurface provides the advanced ability to utilize meshes to create surfaces and boundary curves with just a few simple user commands.
“The result,” explained Mr. Husted, “is a comprehensive collection of surfaces, the number of which automatically adjusts according to the complexity of the mesh and the desired level of surface detail.”
Verisurf AutoSurface is 100% automatic. No curve network is required. With a single button command, users can import points, pointclouds or STL meshes and get the surface model. All shapes, primitives, free forms, and open and closed volumes are supported in Reverse.
"Using Verisurf, we go from laser scans to accurate CAD models in a fraction of the time of any other software that is available," said Andy Solis, Production Manager for Tri-Tech Precision, Inc. "It's fast, easy to use, and accurate."
Verisurf software tools allow users to accomplish the entire product cycle of scanning, meshing, auto-surfacing, solids generation, machining and inspection – all within a single application and using a single file. Also included in Verisurf’s reverse engineering solution, are a broad set of tools for clean-up, organizing, filtering, projecting, and other important tasks necessary to make the job easy and fast.
Originally developed to inspect complex aerospace parts to the CAD model, Verisurf is now used for reverse engineering, model-based tool building, and inspection.
