Hartley Wintney, February 19th 2009 - Getmapping has joined the Planning Portal as a provider of site location plans. Every planning application needs a plan showing the property location and boundaries of the site for which the application is being submitted.

The Planning Portal ( www.planningportal.gov.uk) is the UK Government's online planning and building regulations resource for England and Wales. It is described as a one-stop-shop, supplying answers, services and information to anyone involved in the planning process - from home owners and businesses to planning professionals and Government officials.

The Getmapping procedure for creating site plans has been designed to be simple to use enabling the user to login, find the location of their property and then produce a plan that is fully compliant with planning law. The site location plan uses OS MasterMap as the mapping layer and enables current and proposed building extents to be highlighted in colour.
