During the proceedings, Aberdeen presented our 2008 Manufacturing Achievement Awards for excellence. The nominees were selected solely based upon Aberdeen research over the past 12 months. The award categories included:
(1) Excellence in Asset Management -- granted to the enterprise that has demonstrated excellence by maximizing return on assets and reducing risk due to failure of critical assets through adopting a holistic asset management strategy across the enterprise. 2008 Award Winner: The Linde Group George Kenyon, Director EAM Systems, had this to say about their award, "We would like to thank the Aberdeen Group for presenting The Linde Group with this award. It is the culmination of a 4 year road, and to be recognized as best in class amongst such impressive competition is truly an honor." (2) Best-in-Class ERP Implementation -- granted to the enterprise that has demonstrated top performance in operational metrics influenced by Best-in-Class ERP implementations: inventory reductions, inventory accuracy, complete and on-time shipments, manufacturing schedule compliance, and current performance in time to close a month. 2008 Award Winner: The HallStar Co. Charles Redpath, Director of IT, had this to say about receiving the award, "This honor is the culmination of a lot of hard work by a lot of people within HallStar. It's easy for companies to say we're going to 'do ERP' but to do it and extract real value from a system takes discipline and dedication from every level in the organization. Our team knows it, and it is this, along with their desire to continuously improve and meet the goals of HallStar, that has produced real results and has contributed tremendously to the success of the organization." (3) Best-in-Class Design for Manufacturability -- granted to the enterprise that has demonstrated top performance in operational metrics through Best-in-Class interoperability between PLM and MES. 2008 Award Winner: Harman International (4) Best-in-Class Enterprise Quality Management -- granted to the enterprise that has demonstrated top performance in operational metrics and in reducing the cost of quality through Best-in-Class interoperability between an enterprise QMS system and enterprise applications. 2008 Award Winner: Cummins Inc. (5) Best-in-Class Operational Excellence in the Process Industries -- granted to the enterprise that has demonstrated top performance in operational metrics through Best-in-Class attention to achieve Operational Excellence by reducing internal cost structure while at the same time exceeding customer expectations. 2008 Award Winner: DuPont Jocelyn E. Scott, VP and Chief Engineer, released the following statement, "On behalf of DuPont and its 60,000 employees worldwide, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Aberdeen for presenting us with this award and recognizing DuPont's efforts in becoming an operational powerhouse and putting our science to work to create solutions essential to a better, safer and healthier life for people everywhere. This is truly appreciated."
