October 22, 2008 -- Smart Data Strategies, Inc., a leading provider of GIS software products and services for local, state, and federal government agencies, announced today it has been awarded the Portage County, Ohio GIS Parcel Conversion project. The project entails the digital conversion of approximately 77,000 parcels to an ESRI Geodatabase format utilizing tax maps, tax map surveys, subdivision plats, existing CAD files, and orthophotography as the sources.
Once the conversion portion of the project is complete, Portage County will implement the DREAMaps Land Records Management product suite. DREAMaps Mapper will be used as an extension to ArcGIS in order to streamline and simplify parcel editing tasks while DREAMaps Analyst will link GIS with the CAMA system for visualization and statistical analysis.
