Luciad showcases its latest advances in visualization and situational awareness at Euronaval

High performance maritime C2 visualization software on booth C31

Leuven, Belgium, October 20th 2008 - Luciad, the leading software provider for distribution and high performance visualization of geospatial information, will be presenting its latest innovations for mission-critical Command and Control applications at Euronaval on October 27-31 at the Paris Le Bourget exhibition center in France. Euronaval is the leading international trade show for naval defense and maritime safety.

On booth C31 at the Paris event, visitors will experience live displays of LuciadMap, the company’s flagship software component toolbox for building maritime C2 systems. As an IHO-certified original equipment manufacturer, Luciad offers a suite of ECDIS (Electronic Chart Display and Information System) components required by modern coastal surveillance systems, on-board tactical displays and AIS systems.

Together with support for Land and Air operations, LuciadMap represents the core solution for delivering a complete operational picture at Joint Level. Its capability to fuse weather data, real-time unit positions, operational charts, satellite images and radar feeds into one coherent display ‘on-the-fly’ has dramatically increased the level of situational awareness available to a commander at any time.

One of the highlights at the show will be an example of a coastal and harbor protection system, including interception of submarine-launched missiles and UAV deployment for reconnaissance and intelligence gathering. Visitors can discover nautical charting of ECDIS data on tactical displays and maritime traffic control operations on standard hardware. The interactive multi-touch display solutions will provide an insight into the collaborative planning capability of the future.

“Our presence at this major international platform will position LuciadMap as the reference solution for building mission-critical maritime Command and Control systems,” said Lode Missiaen, CEO from Luciad, “further consolidating our position as supplier of high-performance visualization solutions in the naval and maritime industries”.

About Luciad

Luciad provides software solutions for high performance visualization of geospatial information. Luciad’s software components are the building blocks for mission-critical maritime and other military Command and Control systems.

Luciad’s core product is LuciadMap, a software solution that system integrators and original equipment manufactures can easily integrate into their existing systems. LuciadMap can handle large numbers of static and moving data on top of geographical information, including maps, satellite imagery, and terrain elevation in many different formats and references to achieve a high situational awareness.

Luciad also offers an end-user product, based on LuciadMap’s technology: ATCPlayback, a viewing capability to play back, review, and analyze simulated or recorded air traffic data. It is a powerful, user-friendly suite that graphically replays and intuitively analyzes ATC simulation results by enabling users to interactively refine the analysis process and graphically visualize the results.

Dedicated to providing its clients with the best possible service, Luciad Professional Services will assess advanced system requirements and assist system integrators with the implementation of fully integrated solutions.

Luciad’s international customer base includes NATO, DGA, TNO, DCNS, Thales, EADS, Lockheed Martin, Thales Raytheon Systems, DRDC, DSTA, SAGEM, Saab, Terma, Patria and Havelsan.
