Hardware-accelerated IP video technology will provide multi-display, high-resolution decoding of multiple IP streams for security monitoring

ATLANTA, Sept. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- ASIS 2008: Matrox Graphics, the leading manufacturer of specialized graphics solutions, today announced plans to expand its Security Solutions portfolio of hardware-accelerated IP-video decoding products. The technology is expected to transform security surveillance monitoring by offering an innovative solution for decoding multiple IP streams from a variety of edge devices, such as cameras and encoders to true high-resolution, multi-display setups.

"Currently, IP security monitoring systems rely on software applications running on the system CPU to stream video, resulting in bottlenecks and dropped frames," stated Alain Thiffault, Business Development Manager, Matrox Graphics. "Our new IP video technology offloads the host computer and decodes multiple IP streams at the hardware level -- with a true 1:1 pixel ratio, from camera to screen. This proven IP video decoding technology, already available for Matrox Display Wall products, will be integrated into a number of Matrox graphics solutions over the coming years.
