(Sept. 9, 2008/Harrisburg, Pa.) GeoDecisions, an information technology company specializing in geospatial solutions, teamed with Houston Engineering to develop the Trails and Recreation Information Portal (TRIP), a Web-based mapping application that allows citizens of Carver County, Minn., to locate parks and trails utilizing an interactive geographic information system (GIS).
Utilizing ESRI® ArcGIS® Server 9.3 technology, TRIP is available at gocarvergo.org, a Web site that helps to promote healthy and active living for residents of Carver County. TRIP is one of the first publically available applications that utilizes the new JavaScript™ Application Programming Interface (API) for ArcGIS Server, enhancing map visualization and efficiency.
“This interactive tool gives citizens more opportunities to become active within their community,” said Peter Henschel, the GIS supervisor for Carver County.
