Pictometry to Welcome Tele Atlas Chief Scientist Don Cooke at FutureView 2008 Conference in San Antonio

ROCHESTER, NY – July 24, 2008 – Pictometry International Corp., a leading provider of georeferenced aerial image libraries whose proprietary technology is used globally to capture oblique image libraries, announced today that Don Cooke, Chief Scientist for Tele Atlas will be the special guest speaker at Pictometry’s third annual Pictometry FutureView 2008 International User Conference set for October 27-29 in San Antonio, TX. Tele Atlas is a leading provider of digital maps and content for the burgeoning personal navigation industry.

Cooke will open the FutureView event addressing engineers, experts and Pictometry users from around the country who represent nearly every aspect of the geospatial field. A former member of the 1967 Census Bureau team, Cooke helped to develop the DIME method of street map encoding and later founded Geographic Data Technology, which was acquired by Tele Atlas in 2004. As chief scientist at Tele Atlas, Cooke focuses on research and development and leads the Tele Atlas school outreach program. He served on the NAS Mapping Science Committee in the late 1980s and his publications include ESRI Press' 2005 Fun with GPS. Cooke is a graduate of Yale and studied civil engineering systems at MIT.

Former Pictometry FutureView guest speakers have included former U.S. Governor John Sununu (NH) and Jason Barbour, President of the National Emergency Number Association.
