Applied Geographics Launches Regional Property Map Portal for Southeastern Massachusetts

July 23, 2008 -- Applied Geographics, Inc. (AppGeo, www.appgeo.com) in conjunction with Barry J. Amaral, Register of Deeds, North Bristol County Registry of Deeds, has just launched the North Bristol Regional Property Map Portal, a source for property information and maps on the Web for the municipalities of Berkley, Dighton, Easton, North Attleborough, Norton, Rehoboth and Seekonk. The following link provides access to the portal: http://host.appgeo.com/NBMapPortalMa

“We developed the site for the benefit of municipal staff, residents, and businesses,” said Michael Terner, Executive Vice President of AppGeo. “Like many of our custom websites, the site provides interactive and easy-to-use tools for finding properties, viewing property information, and creating custom PDF maps. While most web-based property viewers in Massachusetts focus on a single town, the North Bristol Property Map Portal is unique in that it provides one-stop shopping and seamless, cross-town mapping for a seven town region.” In addition to parcel and assessor’s information, the portal provides access to aerial imagery and a variety of environmental data layers available from MassGIS.

“The North Bristol Property Map Portal website is a wonderful resource for residents and others who seek information about the Towns many of us live and work in,” said Adrienne Edwards, GIS/CAD Specialist, Department of Public Works in Easton, Massachusetts. “This valuable resource offers website visitors a convenient way to obtain a wealth of information from locating a point of interest to viewing geographic relationships to answering questions about these places and the spaces they occupy.”

“To have so much information about a property in one place is a huge benefit; saving time and energy,” said Deborah Clougherty, Assistant Assessor, Town of North Attleborough, Massachusetts.

The Property Map Portal follows a project conducted by the North Bristol County Registry of Deeds which automated the parcel data for the six of the seven towns. “Once all the parcels were automated, AppGeo believed that it was critical that the towns have an easy means of accessing this valuable information” observed Rich Grady, President of AppGeo. “Taking the regional approach with this portal provided cost efficiency advantages that will benefit all seven communities.”
