Avineon Wins Three-Year Contract with IRS for Systems Engineering and Technical Support Services

Company awarded $7.8 million task order to support Modernization and Information Technology Services

ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Avineon, Inc. ( www.avineon.com), a successful provider of IT, geospatial, engineering and program management services, today announced the U.S. Department of Treasury's Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has awarded the company a three-year contract to provide comprehensive systems engineering and technical support services. Avineon will support the Modernization and Information Technology Services' (MITS) System Architecture & Engineering (SAE) Division with services including architecture and engineering alternative analyses, impact assessments, technical evaluations and cost and schedule rough order of magnitude estimations. The $7.8 million task order is part of Avineon's Total Information Processing Support Services (TIPSS-3) contract with the IRS.

MITS provides and oversees the integration of the IRS' computer and business modernization initiatives into the agency's daily IT operations. The Business Systems Modernization (BSM) Office, a major component of MITS, is responsible for revamping business practices and introducing new technology. Under the contract, Avineon will provide support and services for the Modernization Vision and Strategy (MV&S) program, business intelligence services and document management for the Centers of Excellence (CentEx) and system engineering and program management support for the SAE Division.
