Pointer Telocation Teams with G4S Telematix To Provide Live GPS Technology for Major Mediterranean Sailing Races

Sailing Fans of the Prestigious Annual Aegean Rally in Greece Will Be Able To Closely Track Position of Each Sailing Team, Via Cellocator™ GPS Tracking Units

Rosh HaAyin, Israel - June 23, 2008 – Pointer Telocation Ltd., (Nasdaq Capital Market: PNTR, Tel-Aviv Stock Exchange: PNTR) - a leading AVL (Automatic Vehicle Location) solutions provider for fleet management, car and driver safety, public safety, road side assistance, vehicle security and asset management, today announced that, along with G4S Telematix S.A., it will provide tracking technology for live coverage of a series of premier Mediterranean sailing races. The operation is part of a long-standing partnership that Pointer Telocation has with G4S Telematix, the leading Greek location-based services provider and part of G4S plc, the world’s largest security services provider.

For the upcoming prestigious Aegean Rally, set to take place July 11-20, sailing fans will be able to follow the race position of each sailing team, by visiting the race’s online site. The two companies are also the technology providers for additional races, including the 2008 ISAD-ORC International Offshore World Championship in Athens (June 20-28), sponsored by the Hellenic Offshore Racing Club.

This follows a successful 2008 Posidonia Cup, which took place the final week of May. Pointer Telocation’s Cellocator CelloTrack™ GPS tracking units successfully enabled online viewers to follow all the yachts’ location throughout the race. More than 50 yachts joined the exciting sailing regatta, regarded as a highly important race in the sailing yearly schedule.

The 45th Aegean Rally, organized by the HORC (Hellenic Offshore Racing Club), will take place during the second week of July. Since the first race was held in 1964, the oldest and most prestigious sailing regatta in Greece has attracted competitors from around the world. The race draws coverage from the national and international media, and last year’s race website was viewed by more than 40,000 fans.

Once again, the CelloTrack™ GPS tracking units will be installed into each of the boats before the start of the race. The unit includes a long life asset tracker which is specially designed to address the needs of a sail boat, including protection against water and bad weather. G4S Telematix will then via their web application transfer that data to the race website ( www.aegeanrally.gr), where sailing fans will be able to locate the exact position each racing team throughout the course of the race. Visitors to the website can click on the link for Cellocator to learn more about its leading AVL (Automatic Vehicle Location) technology.

Pointer Telocation is a global “one-stop-shop” for location-based security and safety services. The use of industrial GPS-based location applications is steadily rising. According to a new ABI Research study, “Global Navigation Satellite Positioning Solutions,” the use of GPS in industrial environments such as telematics and asset tracking will continue to grow, and the overall market (consumer and industrial) will expand to 900+ million units by 2013.
Danny Stern, CEO of Pointer Telocation said, “Our leading Cellocator GPS tracking units will enable all racing fans to locate each boat throughout the race, as if they were at the event themselves. We are thrilled to be working with G4S Telematix on this and other projects in Greece, and this further cements Pointer Telocation as a global leader in GPS technology and services.”
“The remarkable Aegean Sailing Rally acts as a fantastic opportunity for us to test and prove, once more, our status as European leaders in providing top quality telematics services in both land and sea,” said Michael Maltezakis, General Manager of G4S Telematix. As the official technology providers of the competition for the fifth consecutive year and distributors of Pointer Telocation’s GPS tracking Units, we will support the Aegean Rally through GPS tracking and monitoring of all competing yachts.”
