(Nov. 2, 2007/Harrisburg, Pa.) GeoDecisions, an information technology company specializing in geospatial solutions, was selected by the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) to plan, design, develop, and implement a Web-based Pavement Marking Data Maintenance Application (PMDMA).
The completed Web application will make pavement marking data easily maintainable by replacing a manual process for tracking pavement markings. For example, paint striping information can be accurately entered, tracked, and edited, and simple queries will be established in the PMDMA so that specific projects can be located and updated in the database.
The PMDMA will be designed to integrate with KDOT’s existing transportation data warehouse, which includes information on traffic volumes, accident information, and construction projects. Data maintained in the PMDMA will be integrated with pavement marking condition data and other data warehouse information. The pavement marking data will be spatially enabled in the data warehouse to allow map display for enhanced analysis and interpretation.
