Dutch Utility Brabant Water Decides in Favor of AED-SICAD's ArcFM UT

ESRI Nederland Again Successful in the Dutch Utility Market:

Brabant Water Decides in Favor of AED-SICAD’s ArcFM UT

Dutch Water Supplier Brabant Water is going to manage its water network with AED-SICAD’s professional standard application for utilities ArcFM™ UT. The application is based on ESRI’s ArcGIS® technology. The implementation of the system is scheduled for 2008.

Brabant Water made the decision to go with ESRI Nederland, because of the broad and complete spectrum of features provided by the offered solution. This especially applies for network management and analysis functions, both in the web-based as well as in the mobile solutions. ArcFM UT, developed by German GIS provider and ESRI partner AED-SICAD, meets the specific requirements of Brabant Water. ArcFM UT as a standard utility solution has proven itself over the past years and can thus provide the stability and security needed for the future.

After Aqualectra, DELTA and Nuon, Brabant Water now is the fourth Dutch utility company that opts for ArcFM UT. The water utility market is already familiar with the ArcGIS technology. Many companies or specific departments in the water sector have been using ArcGIS for years already to manage and secure the quality of the drinking water. Brabant Water, however, is the first water utility to implement ESRI technology on an enterprise wide basis. This is a further proof for ESRI Nederland’s important position in the water management market.

With around 700 employees, Brabant water is supplying water to a population of 2.3 million inhabitants in the Dutch province of Noord-Brabant. The water comes from 34 production companies, supplying 170 million m3 of drinking water to 950.000 customers, via a network with a length of 17.000 km.

Before, Brabant Water was using the old IBM system GTIS/GFIS. This technology by now is no longer supported. The water utility was one of the last GFIS users after DELTA’s migration to its own enterprise wide GIS solution provided by ESRI Nederland.
