"We outgrew the system," said Troy Schroeder, Controller of Haselden Construction, speaking of the company's previous software. "It didn't handle our growing business needs and we needed the flexibility and functionality that CMiC provides, especially when it comes to the complexity of our negotiated contracts, our joint ventures and our out-of-state requirements."
The decision for new software came down to a choice between CMiC and Viewpoint, with CMiC winning out because of its flexibility, according to Schroeder. "The main factor that tipped the scale was CMiC's ability to handle complex contracts and owner billing rates. Also, CMiC continues on where Viewpoint stops, with the collaboration suite, dashboards and the robust imaging and workflow module."
Haselden, the third largest general contractor in Colorado, typically has 30 to 35 projects ongoing at one time in three states and specializes in building hospitals, schools, casinos and high-end mountain resort condos. The company handles $250 to $300 million in contract revenue a year and is planning to use CMiC's solutions to help with the expected 10 per cent growth per year. "We are not going to outgrow the system," said Schroeder. "CMiC is going to make our continued growth a lot easier to handle on the administration side."
