Geoanalytics AE Team Completes Geospatial Data Integration System Prototype for the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services

Madison, WI – January 27, 2006 – GeoAnalytics®, Inc., a leading provider of geographic and land information systems (GIS/LIS) technology and management consulting, along with business partners SAS®, ESRI®, and C&C Solutions have completed an enterprise assessment and design, and a prototype implementation of the Geospatial Data Integration System (GDI) for the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS).

Built on SAS Business Intelligence Server, and using ESRI ArcGIS and ArcIMS and Oracle technologies, the GDI System is designed to integrate departmental operational business system data into one master repository, as the operational data changes. Geographic location is a key component and organizing principle of the System. The GeoAnalytics Team developed and prototyped the GDI System consolidated data model, data integration business rules and processes, and data quality feedback mechanisms that reconcile the differing data forms and data content maintained in the various business systems.

The Implementation Plan developed by the GeoAnalytics Team will deploy the GDI System in phases. The initial phase will take the project results above and integrate FDACS facility and emergency contact data for departmentally managed facilities (employee administrative buildings and labs) for domestic security uses. Subsequent phases will integrate facility and emergency contact data for regulated facilities (such as, farms, food stores and distribution centers, and gas stations). However, the GDI System was designed as a mechanism for consistent, reliable, and timely data to extend across the Department that is scalable and extensible in order to accommodate a much broader range of spatial data, related non-spatial data, and business functions.

“During the vendor selection process, GeoAnalytics and their partners stood out above the competition with their understanding of our needs and vision, and their ability to address the project at all levels of our organization,” said FDACS Project Manager Brian Pierce. “Throughout the project, our choice to select The GeoAnalytics Team was validated in so many different components of expertise. They brought competent staff with strong project management experience to meet tight timelines and a dedication to project success that resulted in a system architecture with the proper toolset that truly addresses the business needs of our organization.”
