Ernie Ott accepts Citilabs appointment to VP - Will open Los Angeles Regional Office

August 26, 2005 -- Citilabs Inc. is proud to announce that Ernest K. Ott (Ernie) has joined their management team, and will immediately open a Los Angeles Regional Office. Ernie has accepted a new position of Vice President as a key part of Citilabs' adoption and enhancement of GIS-based solutions for Transportation Planners and Engineers, along with Citilabs' upcoming release of CUBE version 5, embedded with ArcGIS.

"Ernie will help us focus on marketing, GIS product planning, distribution channel and partner program enhancement, as well as customer-oriented programs", says Michael Clarke, President and CEO of Citilabs. "We feel excited about Ernie's choice to join us, as he brings great experience, depth, and energy to Citilabs, as we strive to reach the next level in our growth." Mr. Ott has spent the past 11 years with ESRI, Inc., the world leader in GIS, managing their Transportation Industry program, and before spent 16 years with IBM Corp., much of that time focused on transportation customers and industry programs.

"Citilabs is a great brand, offering high quality and function to Transportation Professionals around the globe", says Mr. Ott. "I am very pleased to join such a dedicated team with a long and great tradition of supporting transportation planning, modeling, and simulation. Citilabs software developers have demonstrated a great understanding of multi-modal transportation network topology, and will be making these tools more accessible to planning agencies and firms. The new software release will allow more data sharing to support complex work-flows intrinsic in the transportation planning process of the 21st century."
"We are very excited about Citilabs technology, and how it integrates the transportation planning process with GIS", stated Jack Dangermond, President of ESRI. "Tying CUBE with ArcGIS's geodatabase will allow a greater degree of information sharing, creating higher efficiency in analyses and more informed decision making."

"Citilabs is taking steps to ensure our customers have a growth path which reflects and supports their plans to improve their information technology environment, so their planners, consultants, and engineers need make no compromises in order to incorporate effective, top-quality transportation models for the communities they support", says Mr. Clarke. "We appreciate our many customers, the vote of confidence they have given us, and we at Citilabs want to ensure they have the resources they need to succeed with Citilabs software. Having Ernie join us is in part ensuring they have an advocate for their plans and aspirations in using our software."

"Having been a user of both Citilabs and ESRI software, I am very hopeful of this new direction Citilabs is taking with ArcGIS. It will certainly make things easier for planning directors around the world." Mr. Terry Bills recently joined ESRI as Transportation Industry Manager feels: "GIS offers great promise to help planners, managers, and the community get to the heart of each decision, and to explore the pro's and con's of transportation proposals. I look forward to working with Ernie in his new position."
