TIMTOS 2023 Opens Today, Attracts Global Attention

Taipei, March 6, 2023: The Taipei International Machine Tool Show 2023, also known as TIMTOS, kicks off today. The physical mega show will go for six days till March 11. More than 1,000 exhibitors from 18 countries/regions host nearly 6,200 booths across Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center Hall 1 & 2 and TWTC Hall 1. With a larger scale than 2022, TIMTOS 2023 is not only an iconic event for the global machine tool industry but also the largest trade show ever recorded after Taiwan lifted all its border controls since the outbreak.

After the pandemic, the global machine tool industry and professionals from around the world are showing significant interest in TIMTOS 2023. According to the organizer TAITRA, the show’s total number of international visitor registration has exceeded 3,000 from over 80 countries/regions, which is an encouraging indicator of the recovery of both Taiwan’s machine tool industry and MICE industry in early 2023. TAITRA anticipates that TIMTOS 2023 will attract 50,000 visitors from home and abroad in six show days.

“TIMTOS 2023 is starting a new chapter for the global machine tool community after the COVID-19 pandemic,” said TAITRA Chairman James Huang. Huang expressed excitement about the dynamic return of international attendees, including four national pavilions (USA, Switzerland, Germany and Denmark) and delegations led by the industry associations in India, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Japan and Turkey. Huang also pointed out that this year's TIMTOS highlights the ESG trends and their impacts on the machine tool industry’s transition toward making manufacturing more efficient, smarter and more sustainable.

TAMI Chairman Larry Wei gave a warm welcome to the international visitors reunited at TIMTOS 2023. Wei expressed confidence that both foreign and domestic visitors would be impressed by the vitality and resilience of Taiwan machine tool manufacturers at TIMTOS this year. Machine tools manufacturers nowadays are devoted to reducing carbon emissions instead of reducing costs alone. The optimization of equipment and services to achieve net-zero goals will be the key driving force for the growth of orders, added Wei.

TIMTOS 2023 features a list of all-star exhibitors such as FFG, TTGroup, HIWIN, PMI, YLM, SHINBU, KAFO, CHMER, Hartford, SOCO, YOU JI, TAKISAWA, YCM, Kao Ming, Victor Taichung, Delta, Siemens, HEIDENHAIN, TRUMPF, FANUC, igus, MAZAK, Mitsubishi, THK, Zeiss, Grundfos, Universal Robot, Mitutoyo, Keyence, Renishaw, and Accretech. Three brand-new themed areas are also added at TWTC Hall 1 to feature “Advanced Metalworking Technology,” “Additive Manufacturing,” and “Future Manufacturing.”

Furthermore, this year’s TIMTOS launches two major event series, “ESG action!” and “ESG in TIMTOS,” that bring together exhibitors and consulting organizations to provide new insights on carbon neutrality. Among them, “Dr. Net Zero” joins senior industry consultants to offer free carbon footprint consultations for the show attendees. The "Insights Stage" at TWTC Hall 1 accommodates thought-provoking events like Future Manufacturing Forum, ESG Seminars, Maker Workshop, Insights Talk, and Podcast Live in five consecutive days from March 6 to 10. Other activities include Cutting Tool Hunter Stamp Collecting Tasks at TWTC Hall 1 and Metalworking Ecosystem Guided Tour that spans three halls.

The physical exhibition of TIMTOS 2023 runs 10 AM to 6 PM, March 6 to 11 while the online exhibition will continue until April 6. For more updates and full event info, visit the official website at www.timtos.com.tw, or follow the show on social media.
