Unscripted Interior Design Brings High Design to Trailhead Community Integrated Housing Project

(Centennial, Co.) – August 9, 2021 – Nationally respected interior design firm, Unscripted Interior Design is bringing elevated inclusive design to a new integrated housing community. Located in Littleton, CO, Trailhead Community is a non-profit housing project for independent adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities, working professionals earning less than median income and middle-income active seniors. Trailhead Community enlisted Unscripted Interiors to provide interior design services that would combine elevated aesthetics with acute functionality to meet the project’s unique requirements.

“Unscripted Interiors is honored to collaborate with Trailhead Community to provide sophisticated, thoughtful and functional design,” says Kari Armstrong, CEO and Principal of Unscripted Interior Design. “Our focus is to create a serene living environment where residents are empowered to connect and thrive in harmony.”

Working closely with KGA Studio Architects, Unscripted Interiors’ design plan marries architecture and interiors to create a sense of regionality with natural stones, soft medium wood tones and organic materials. Textural notes of nature and calming hues of greens, creams and wheat craft a relaxing interior environment that reduces stress and overstimulation while gracefully blending with the building’s exterior and surrounding landscape. SoundPly acoustic beams enhance the quiet, peaceful environment while serving audio-sensitive residents and guests. Stylized modern touches throughout aim to create a space that complements the Colorado landscape and infuses a level of sophistication for the diverse residents of the Trailhead Community.

Unscripted Interiors paid particular attention to lighting and wayfinding, catering to residents’ abilities while navigating the 80-unit apartment development and amenities. Trailhead’s communal spaces were approached through a residential lens to create an overall softness and coziness.  Integrating the community is critical at Trailhead, and an open pass through the community kitchen and dining area welcomes interaction between residents and staff. Communal areas were planned with gathering places for connectivity and intimate nooks for individual enjoyment, while a multipurpose media room can be transformed into a karaoke club, movie theater, sports viewing den, or small gathering space for residents.

The designs will be brought to life thanks to generous partners, including Caesarstone, Daltile, Interface, Inc., Mohawk Group, Mozaik Surface Concepts, Trueform Concrete and SoundPly. Trailhead Community is expected to complete in late 2022. For more information, please visit Unscriptedinteriors.com and Trailheadcommunity.org.
