SKOKIE, Ill. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — August 3, 2021 — Azul 3D, a developer of leading-edge 3D printing technology, today announced that Cody Petersen has been promoted to chief executive officer (CEO). He previously held the position of vice president of product development and manufacturing.

The company has also announced further changes to its leadership team. Co-founder David Walker has been appointed president and chief technology officer (CTO), and co-founder James Hedrick has been appointed chief product and business development officer. The company also recently appointed 3D printing industry veteran Tuan TranPham as chief revenue officer (CRO).

With this team in place, the company is preparing to launch new partnerships and products, grow its team, and take on new challenges in the 3D printing market.

“Solidifying this team is the next step in preparing for an exciting phase of rapid growth,” said Azul 3D cofounder and chair Chad A. Mirkin. “Our HARP technology is poised to transform advanced manufacturing across industries, and we have the best team in place to guide this transformation.”

Petersen brings a broad range of experience in product development, strategy, operations, and engineering across multiple Fortune 100 companies and industries. Walker and Hedrick bring years of experience in additive manufacturing to their new roles and will continue to be deeply engaged in the operations, engineering product development, business development, and strategy of Azul 3D. Walker and Hedrick, with Mirkin, co-founded Azul 3D in 2017 after developing the company’s novel 3D printing technology at Northwestern University.

“I’m incredibly excited to be leading this diverse team of experts,” Petersen said. “David, James, and the rest of the Azul 3D team, and their passion and knowledge of 3D printing, will propel Azul 3D to the forefront of the additive manufacturing industry.”
