USGIF Appoints New Vice President of Programs

 

Christy Monaco selected to serve as the foundation’s Vice President of Programs

Herndon, Virginia (December 21, 2020) – The United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF) has selected Christy Monaco to serve as Vice President of Programs. USGIF is the leading non-profit educational foundation for advancing the geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) tradecraft to address global security challenges.

“The recent past has demonstrated that GEOINT unquestionably delivers unique value and insights to both traditional and non-traditional consumers in the public, private, and academic sectors. I look forward to working with the Foundation to develop and deliver programming that advances the GEOINT discipline, technology, and understanding. I am thrilled to be joining the amazing staff at USGIF and engaging with the Foundation’s members in this new capacity,” said Monaco.

A 30-year veteran of the intelligence community and Department of Defense, Monaco most recently served as the Chief Ventures Officer (CVO) at the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency (NGA).  She brings a breadth of experience from prior service in human intelligence, program and financial management, customer experience and corporate communications at NGA, the Defense Intelligence Agency, and the Office of Naval Intelligence.  As CVO, Monaco has been an advocate and transformational leader in partnerships between the federal government, industry, and academia.

Monaco holds a B.A. in Russian and English from Vanderbilt University, an M.I.M. in International Commerce from the University of Maryland, University College, and an M.S. in National Resource Strategy from the National Defense University.
