Schneider Electric enhances flexibility and reliability with arcfm designer 11.2.4 release

The latest release of ArcFM Designer XI adds new functionality to create the most dependable design tool for any utility

Fort Collins, Colo., Oct. 26, 2020 – Schneider Electric, the industry leader in Geographic Information System (GIS) solutions for utilities and communication providers, announced the latest release of ArcFM Designer XI, the primary design tool for any utility. ArcFM Designer 11.2.4 incorporates new functionalities that enable quick and easy insight into work in progress, allow designers to configure which GIS attributes are editable, simplify complex designs for construction crews by breaking construction prints into separate pages and prevent loss of work through auto-saving.

ArcFM Designer 11.2.4 improves on the flexibility and reliability of the application through a multitude of new capabilities:

·      Work Areas are available to show work in-progress and keep other interested parties up to date via any ArcGIS-based application.

·      Admins can now configure which attributes from the GIS are viewable and editable.

·      A new auto-save function will recover the design in the event of an application crash, so no work is lost.

·      Designers can easily import additional existing data into their design in case it requires an adjacent feeder or pressure zone.

·      Multi-page construction prints clearly represent complex, multi-phased jobs for the construction crew.

“This release of ArcFM Designer XI provides designers with elevated efficiency and accuracy through several new functionalities, like an auto-save feature, that make it the most dependable design tool yet,” said Jay Stinson, general manager at Schneider Electric. “Through constant evolution, Designer XI continues to deliver the next generation of optimized graphic work design.”

ArcFM Designer XI is part of the ArcFM Solution XI Series, an ecosystem of applications that streamline the design and construction workflow, enabling utilities to get work done more efficiently. ArcFM Editor XI, ArcFM Web XI, ArcFM Geodatabase Designer XI and ArcFM Mobile XI fill out the rest of the ecosystem and offer the most comprehensive utility GIS solution available today. The result - streamlined workflows, minimized use of paper and a reduced work backlog enable utilities to address the challenges facing today’s digital environment.
