Agrowing Releases the World's Best AI-Enabling Multispectral Sensor for Agricultural Surveys, with 14 Narrow Bands of 8 Megapixel per Band

Agrowing's new sensor revolutionizes remote sensing by enabling high-end multispectral AI-identification and classification of pests, diseases, and nutrient deficiencies. The sensor acquires 14 narrow spectral bands, each of 8 Megapixel. The new sensor is guaranteed to supply the best actionable data to growers and service providers, acquiring imagery at 1.7cm per pixel ground resolution from 100m altitude, and 0.5mm per pixel from 3m altitude.

RISHON LEZION, Israel, June 11, 2020 — (PRNewswire) —

RISHON LEZION, Israel, June 11, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Agrowing Ltd., a world leading provider of AI-Enabling multispectral sensors, announces the addition of the world's best multispectral sensor to its line of sensors.

The sextuple-lens sensor acquires 14 narrow spectral bands of 10nm to 30nm bandwidth and 8 Megapixel per band, providing imagery of 1.7cm per pixel ground resolution from 100m altitude, and 0.5mm per pixel from 3m altitude.

Agrowing's line of sensors is unique in its ability to acquire aligned multispectral data from both low and high altitudes.

The new 14 band sextuple lens of the sensor provides unprecedented 6 red bands from 650nm to 850nm, 4 green band and 4 blue ones. Agrowing's US and EU patented sensor design utilizes Sony's Alpha 7Riv modified full spectrum camera body, and its outstanding Full-Frame 61.2MP CMOS sensor, combined with high-end multi bandpass filters. The sensors avoids the crucial limitations of the state-of-the-art multi-camera sensors, by having low distortion 21.6mm focal depth optics of fixed F5.6, combined with the sensor's superior dynamic range, single mechanical shutter, and innovative sub-pixel accurate continuous digital alignment of the spectral bands.

"Agrowing's sensors were designed to meet the needs of autonomous surveys and spraying," said Ira Dvir Co-Founder and CEO of Agrowing. ""Growers need actionable data. Agrowing's new sensor enables accurate identification of pests, diseases, nutrient deficiencies, and weeds' type, using AI machine learning and classification. Our sensors provide the best by far NDVI maps, but with ground resolutions of 4cm per pixel and poor dynamic range, and even with our 1.7cm per pixel and great dynamic range, one cannot identify if a potato field is infected with Alternaria, Blight, or Colorado Beetle. Growers need actionable data, which enables them to match the right spraying chemicals to the specific weeds found in a wheat or a sugarcane field. The new sensor enables it."

In October 2019, Agrowing's Quad-lens 12 band sensor of 4 red bands, won the press award as one of the three innovative products of the Commercial UAV Expo Americas. https://tinyurl.com/yhz5mu89

Agrowing collaborates with academic institutes around the globe, like the Rochester Institute of Technology and UNESP (Sao Paulo), with the goal of enhancing its line of products and provide service providers with the best multispectral sensor for fast and accurate AI identification of pests, diseases, and nutrient deficiencies.

Enabling A service, which allows growers and agronomists to have definite actionable data, without having to go and check in the field, is not an advantage, but a revolution.

With it 4 blue bands from 405nm to 490nm and 4 green bands from 525nm to 570nm, the sensor present opportunities far beyond field crops, and is suitable also for marine agriculture and many other applications.
