Not For Profit Leader in the STEM Space Launches Free, Online Webinars Live from Virginia Tech on Coding and Inventing for Students Forced to Miss School Because of COVID-19

Boolean Girl: Full STEM Ahead teaches kids to code and learn other vital skills for the future.

ARLINGTON, Va., March 17, 2020 — (PRNewswire) — With more and more kids forced to stay home from school worldwide, Boolean Girl is launching live, online events to help teach kids to code, build, invent and animate.  Each episode will introduce new engineering and coding projects to increase interest and engagement around STEM.  What's more: if students and their parents can't join live,  they can watch the webinars at any time.

"We know parents and kids are looking to make the time at home productive - and there is no better way than to work on meaningful projects developing cutting edge skills," says Brian Moran, co-founder of Boolean Girl.

"We have been teaching kids to code and invent through our summer camps and our 'Boolean Box' and this is just another way for kids from third grade to eighth grade to become engaged in a worthwhile activity while they are home from school," adds Sarah Eastman, co-founder of Boolean Girl.

The first episode of Boolean Girl: Full STEM Ahead focused on the video game Pong.  Pong was one of the first video games ever developed and was inducted into the World Video Game Hall of Fame. In the project, students got to build and play the classic game while learning how to log in to scratch, create code and save their work.  Upcoming episodes include Ghosts and Wizard, Introduction to Python and a scratch game with levels which includes a lesson on character animation.
